Major holidays will be based on the religions of the people of your country. You may make up the type of religion and languages that represent your country.

CountryReports.org - useful for this assignment. You can pick a country from the drop-down menu, then read short-but-complete descriptions of its geography, economy, and government.

Atlapedia Online - lets you call up an encyclopedia-like entry on any country in the world and view identical maps showing the country's political or physical features.

CIA - The World Fact Book offers short, information-packed summaries of basic information about countries, and has simple, clear maps.

Library of Congress Country is very complete, very detailed, and very well organized. It can be a little overwhelming, but is the fastest way to find in-depth, reliable information about a country.

Yahoo List of Countries lists more than 100 different countries. Click on the name of a country to get a list of links to websites about that country.
